Katarzyna María Grenda Mitrega (viola)

Born in Poland in 1972, Mrs. Katarzyna Maria Grenda graduated from the
"Szymanowski High School of Music" in Katowice in the class of Andrzej Joniec. She continued her studies at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore (USA) with Paul Coletti, Roberto Díaz and Victoria Chang, where she graduated in 1997 with Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees.

During her music career she participated in numerous ensembles, including Baltimore Opera, Concert Artists of Baltimore, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra of Galicia, as well as in various music festivals such as Jeunesses Musicales- Poland, International Summer School- Croatia, Schleswig- Holstein Music Festival- Germany.
As an orchestra musician she worked with Kurt Sanderling, Helmuth Rilling, Viktor Libermann, Jordi Mora, and Victor Pablo Pérez.

Mrs. Grenda participated in several viola and chamber music masterclasses with Joseph De Pascuale, Cynthia Phelps, Jerzy Kosmala, Misha Amory, Patricia McCarty, Asja Kouchner, Earl Carlyss and Jesse Levine. She also performed with Gervase de Payer, as a member of the Melos Sinfonia Quartet.

Since the school year 1998/1999 Mrs. Grenda has been a faculty member of the viola and chamber music departments at the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Manuel Massotti Littel" in Murcia (Spain).
